Ned and I boarded the little four seater in Manchester and flew up to Camdon NH. Just the two of us and the pilot, hard to believe it was a commercial flight.
Yukio met us at the airport. He was Japanese in origin and dressed quite corporately, in a grey suit, white shirt and black tie. Then I noticed the red socks.
We collected our luggage and walked out of the terminal building to the parking lot. Yukio opened the trunk of his gun metal grey Mercedes Benz and we stored our bags for the trip to the hotel.
We climbed into the car. Yukio turned and said "Please excuse me I had some trouble with the ignition key and the new one hasn't come in yet" At which point he flipped a switch hanging from two wires, picked up a screwdriver, stabbed it into the hole in the dashboard where the ignition switch was supposed to be and after a brief spark the Mercedes engine roared to life.
I silently said to myself "I think I'm going to like this guy".
